For independent brands who’d rather focus on product than customs paperwork

Focus on your craft. We’ll surface the savings.

We check what you’re actually paying to import — and show you exactly where you’re overpaying, backed by real government rulings, not guesses.

Real example, not a guess
$5,000

the gap a single misclassified HTS code can create on a $50,000 shipment — 5% duty vs. 15%

Every recommendation cites a real CBP ruling

How it actually works

Three steps. No paperwork on your end.

STEP 01
Tell us what you’re making
Describe the product — materials, where it’s made, roughly what you import each year. Takes under a minute.
STEP 02
We dig through the real rules
We check the actual tariff schedule and cross-reference thousands of real CBP rulings — the same rulings customs officers use — to find your true classification and every duty layer that applies to it.
STEP 03
You get a clear answer, with the receipts
Exactly what you should be paying, exactly where you might be overpaying, and the specific ruling that backs each recommendation. No guesswork, no vague advice — just the number, and why.

Real analysis, not an instant lookup — most results are ready in under two minutes.

This isn’t customs-broker advice — it’s the information you need to make an informed call, backed by real rulings, not opinions.

FAQ

Common questions

No. LandedAPI is a research and data tool. All responses include our statutory disclaimer: “This analysis is research support only and does not constitute customs business under 19 U.S.C. 1641.” We identify opportunities — your licensed customs broker or attorney makes the binding determination and files entries.
HTS codes are sourced from the USITC official HTS schedule, updated on major revision cycles. CBP administrative rulings are sourced from the CBP CROSS ruling database. We ingest and index both for sub-second lookup alongside our classification layer.
We use claude-sonnet-4-6 with injected chapter HTS codes and CBP rulings as grounding context, keeping results tied to the actual tariff schedule. Accuracy is highest for consumer goods in Chapters 61–64, 84–85, and 94. We always return confidence scores and GRI reasoning so your team can validate before filing.
The optimize-tariff endpoint’s country-of-origin vector identifies Section 301 List 1, 2, 3, 4A exposure for China-origin goods across all covered chapters, and recommends alternative manufacturing countries where those surcharges do not apply. Section 232 (steel/aluminum) is also flagged where relevant.
Yes. LandedAPI is a standard REST JSON API with Bearer token auth. It integrates with any TMS, ERP, or customs clearance platform that supports HTTP. We provide SDKs for Node.js and Python, with more in the roadmap.
Scale tier: 99.9% uptime SLA. Starter and Pro are best-effort (typically 99.5%+). HTS data is refreshed within 48 hours of USITC publication; CBP rulings are ingested within 24 hours of CROSS publication.
All data submitted to LandedAPI is transmitted via encrypted TLS/SSL channels and stored in an isolated database environment. Submitted Bill of Materials and product composition data is never used to train public AI models, never sold to third parties, and never shared outside your account context. Enterprise contracts typically include confidentiality provisions — contact us to discuss data handling requirements specific to your organization.
The scenarios in the hero above are real — drawn from actual USITC duty schedule data and CBP ruling logic — but they’re preloaded examples, not a live API call. To classify your own product and get the full duty breakdown against your HTS code and country of origin, you’ll need an API key. The Starter plan is $99/month and includes 300 credits (1 classify = 1 credit, 1 optimize = 20 credits) — or email hello@landedapi.devif you’d prefer a guided trial run against a product you’re currently importing.
